Kite
A visual pun, juxtaposing the traditional kite shape with wing forms based loosely on a Red Kite. In Maori culture, the word for kite and the word for bird are the same. Birds were believed to be able to carry messages to the gods, and kites were constructed as a man-made alternative.
Fused and slumped glass wall piece with sandblast and dichroic details.
